Studies Suggest CBD reduces seizure frequency in human trials

CBD, the major non-psychoactive component of Cannabis Sativa, has been showing considerable success in affecting neuronal excitability in the Central Nervous System in clinical trials (through use of the FDA approved drug EPIDIOLEX). As CBD garners more attention nationally and archaic restrictions are removed, science is on the path of revealing the specific mechanisms behind the anticonvulsive, neuroprotective, and anti-inflammatory affects CBD has shown.

Meanwhile, I have had personal experience in working with a number of children with various synaptic and neurological disorders. Children with epilepsy are not ‘faking’ symptoms for attention. It is heart-wrenching and scary for parents. When they tell me their seizures or episodes are greatly reduced through careful management and incorporation of CBD, I am inclined to believe them. Follow-up visits to their doctor usually bear out those results. I see it time and time again.

Anyway, if you want to know more enjoy this super boring research article!
